Recreation boats are very popular in our area for their design and durability.
Recreation kayaks are boats usually less than 14 feet and are also generally wider making them more stable. The
shorter boats turn about easily in the narrow rivers and streams. They are generally considered recreation because
the boat is taken out usually from just few hours to a half day, have a larger cockpit for ease of entry and exit, and are less expensive than their touring counterparts. The boats may or may not have a rudder, that's totally
dependant upon the paddler. Most recreation boats have at least one gear hatch used for storage of the day's needs.
