Four Guided Ways to Experience Crystal River

Every tour leaves from our canal-side dock with a local guide handling the route, group pace, wildlife expectations, and current access rules. Plan on approximately 2.5 to 3 hours with the paddlecraft, paddle, and U.S. Coast Guard-approved life vest included.

Choose by the experience you want: a year-round guided swim, a daytime Kings Bay paddle, a dry clear-bottom tour, or sunset from the water. Prefer to set your own pace without a guide? Compare our kayak rentals from the same dock.

Planning a Group?

Groups of roughly ten paddle with us regularly, and groups of twenty or more can be arranged with advance notice. Call the shop before booking so we can coordinate the date, craft, ages, comfort levels, and guide support around the people coming.

If the group wants independence instead of a guide, compare Kayak Rentals. If paddling does not fit everyone, the captain-led option is waiting in the card beside this text.

Prefer a Captain?

Boat Tours carry up to six paying guests with a local captain. Stay aboard for a dry River Cruise or add a guided seasonal swim.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which kayak tour should I choose?

Choose the Manatee & Eco Swim Tour when entering the water at Three Sisters is the goal. Choose Kings Bay for a daytime paddle and Three Sisters stop whenever open, Clear Kayak for a dry viewing-panel experience, or Sunset when evening light is the reason for the trip.

What is the difference between a kayak tour and a rental?

A tour includes a local guide who leads the route, manages group pace, explains the area, and helps the group respond to current conditions and access rules. A rental is self-guided after staff orientation and gives confident paddlers more independence.

Are the tours suitable for beginners and children?

Yes. Beginners are welcome, and there is no fixed minimum participant age. Parents decide whether a child is ready to paddle, while the guide keeps the pace appropriate for the group. Tell us about ages and comfort levels before booking.

Do all tours enter or stop at Three Sisters Springs?

No single access promise fits every tour. The swim tour heads to the Three Sisters area year-round. Kings Bay stops there whenever it is open. Clear Kayak access remains at guide and group discretion, and Sunset follows the area on its way toward Kings Bay. Current rules and conditions always apply.

When can I book the Manatee or Eco Swim Tour?

Swim tours run year-round. Choose the Manatee Swim Tour for dates from November 15 through March 31 and the Eco Swim Tour for dates from April 1 through November 14. Wildlife encounters are never guaranteed.

What's included with a guided kayak tour?

Every tour includes a local guide, the selected paddlecraft, a paddle, and a U.S. Coast Guard-approved life vest. The Manatee & Eco Swim Tour also includes a mask, snorkel, and wetsuit.

Can you accommodate a large group?

Yes. Groups of roughly ten are routine, and groups of twenty or more can be arranged with advance notice. Call before booking so we can coordinate guides, craft, timing, and participant needs.

Can I bring a pet on a tour?

No. Pets are not permitted on guided tours because of access limits within the wildlife sanctuaries.

How do I see current tour availability?

Choose a Tour to open the complete current tour selection for your date. If the experience or time you want does not appear, call the shop to ask what may be available.
